Lyons Gaddis Welcomes Catherine Fink to the Water Law team

LONGMONT, Colo. — Lyons Gaddis is pleased to welcome Catherine Fink to its Water Law practice group.

Catherine brings a unique combination of legal training and more than two decades of experience as an educator, writer, and community leader. Her passion for environmental and water law is rooted in her own experience growing up in Pennsylvania before moving to Colorado, where the contrast between the water-rich East and the arid West sparked a lifelong appreciation for the role water plays in the region’s communities, economy, and environment.

She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she completed the Environmental & Natural Resources Law Certificate and received multiple Scholastic Excellence Awards in environmental and climate law coursework. During law school, she gained experience through externships with The Nature Conservancy, Sustainable Development Strategies Group, the Colorado Access to Justice Commission. She also participated in the University of Denver’s Advancing Social Change Clinic, while also serving as Senior Managing Editor of Environment@5280.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Catherine spent more than 20 years teaching English, human development, and writing in Colorado and California. Most recently, she taught high school English while attending law school part time, an experience that reflects her lifelong commitment to education and public service.

“Catherine’s passion for Colorado’s natural resources, coupled with her exceptional research skills, makes her an outstanding addition to our water law team,” said Scott Holwick, Shareholder. “Her thoughtful approach and commitment to serving both clients and the community align perfectly with the values of Lyons Gaddis.”

Outside the office, Catherine enjoys camping, skiing, and hiking throughout Colorado with her husband and their three children. She also volunteers as a Boettcher Scholarship Alumni Ambassador and precinct leader, leads a neighborhood book club, and continues to mentor students through the college application process.

“We’re excited to welcome Catherine to Lyons Gaddis and look forward to the knowledge, perspective, and enthusiasm she’ll bring to our clients and our firm.”
