Opening for an experienced attorney

The law firm of Lyons Gaddis has an opening for an experienced attorney to join the firm’s local government practice group, which primarily represents school and special districts. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight years to approximately 20 years of experience in the public sector or related work, with a preference for specific experience in labor/employment, and a desire to practice employer-side negotiations/collective bargaining labor work. Candidates will have a passion for providing exceptional client service, developing strong client and community connections, and either live in the extended Denver metro area or be willing to relocate.

The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $185,000 depending upon experience.


Paralegal – Real Estate and Business Transactions

Position Summary: Lyons Gaddis is seeking a real estate and business transactional Paralegal to join our team in our Longmont, CO office.  The ideal candidate will assist lawyers with project management, client communication, document drafting, research and overall legal support.  It requires a confident and professional individual with good organizational skills and writing ability, preferably with prior experience in the real estate industry. Lyons Gaddis offers an excellent benefits package and an opportunity to work in a challenging and collaborative environment. This position will begin on-site and may evolve into a two-day remote and three days in the office role.

Compensation: At Lyons Gaddis, Compensation is merit-based, as required by the Colorado Equal Pay Act, and we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. Our good faith salary range for this position is $70,000 –80,000, and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative aspects pertaining to acquisitions, sales and exchanges, and financing or refinancing of residential and commercial real estate.
  • Review and organize due diligence documents.
  • Obtain, review and analyze title commitments, surveys, and related documents including resolving any underlying issues.
  • Prepare title and survey objection letters.
  • Draft organizational-specific documents including, but not limited to, resolutions and incumbency certificates.
  • Coordinate closings, including finalizing closing documents, coordinating execution with transaction parties, and preparing closing binders.
  • Research public records, as needed, to assist in data gathering.
  • Draft organizational documentation (including, but not limited to, operating agreements, limited partnership agreements, and bylaws) after entity creation.
  • Create and maintain minute books.
  • Calculate and monitor critical deadlines within transaction documents.
  • Handle file organization and maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively, professionally, and in a timely manner with attorneys, clients and related parties.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Undergraduate degree and/or paralegal certificate required.
  • 2-5 years of real estate experience preferred. Experience with land use, construction, and real estate development is a plus.
  • Experience with title and survey reviews & closing checklists (beginning to end) is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate projects and cases for more than one attorney simultaneously.
  • Must cope professionally with demands from attorneys and remain calm under pressure.
  • Must conduct all business in a confidential manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Teams and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proactive business style required.

Litigation Paralegal

Great Paralegal Sought: Lyons Gaddis is seeking a full-time Paralegal for its Litigation group.   • Attention to detail on documents, emails, court filings, calendaring deadlines, proofreading, etc.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (especially MS Word and Excel) and Adobe in a Windows environment
  • Verbal and written communications
  • Organizing and prioritizing time and tasks
  • Completing assignments independently with minimal oversight
  • Fast, accurate keyboarding skills
  • Good people skills

Other expectations:

  • Minimum 3 years of Paralegal experience or equivalent

Support duties include:

  • Typing, proofreading, and revising pleadings and other documents

  • Knowledge of MS Office (especially MS Word and Excel) and Adobe in a Windows environment
  • Verbal and written communications
  • Organizing and prioritizing time and tasks

Water Attorney:

Lyons Gaddis has an immediate need for an attorney with a proven interest in Colorado water law to join its water team as an associate.

The individual who fills this position must have at least 4 years’ experience in Colorado water-related matters, including water court proceedings and water rights transactions.

Salary Range:

Compensation is merit-based, as required by the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Our good faith salary range for this position is $110,000 – $130,000 dependent on experience and qualifications. The position includes the opportunity to earn an incentive bonus based on productivity, which could range from $0 to $25,000 or more.
