Dan brings a strong background in education law and regulatory adjudication, having most recently served in senior attorney roles with the U.S. Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid office. In these positions, he adjudicated and supervised borrower defense to repayment matters involving allegations of consumer protection violations by postsecondary institutions, contributing to the evaluation and administration of large-scale student loan relief initiatives. His work required careful statutory interpretation, investigative analysis, and consistent application of federal regulatory frameworks
Before his federal service, Dan practiced litigation in Chicago, representing clients in complex, high-income family law matters and advising individuals and businesses in tax controversy cases involving the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Justice. This combination of public-sector and private-practice experience allows Dan to approach legal challenges with both precision and practical insight.
“Dan’s depth of experience in regulatory analysis and education-related matters strengthens our ability to support schools, institutions, and public entities navigating complex legal landscapes,” said Jeff Rose. “We’re excited to welcome him to the firm and look forward to the perspective he brings to our team.”
