Overview

As the son, grandson, and great-grandson of public school teachers, Mike has long held a passion for public education. This led him to a career working for or on behalf of educational institutions and governmental entities. As an attorney in the Government Practice group, Mike’s focus is on providing excellent service to the firm’s school district and special district clients.

• Education & Experience

  Mike earned his BA in Economics at the University of Texas at Austin. While a student, he served on the Liberal Arts Council, a branch of student government. He earned his JD degree from the University of Colorado. He served on the Journal on Telecommunications & High Technology Law (now known as the Colorado Technology Law Journal) and served as a research assistant for professor Sienho Yee.

  Throughout a career dedicated to public education, Mike has worked in higher education in compliance roles, as well as at a private firm representing school districts. Prior to joining the firm, , he served as General Counsel for a large school district in Texas.

• Organizations & Community Involvement

  Mike is a member of both the Boulder County Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association.

  For several years he was a volunteer adaptive ski instructor. Something he hopes to become involved in once again.

• Personal

  Mike recently returned from Texas and lives in Longmont with his fiancée and their dog. He enjoys road cycling and is an avid college football fan, rooting for the University of Colorado Buffaloes and the University of Texas Longhorns.
