John primarily works in the government practice group and is dedicated to serving the best interests of local government entities. He has developed a passion for working with local governments and building sustained, positive client relationships. John enjoys the general nature of this practice group and is confident that he can be a positive asset in whatever challenges your entity may be facing.

Education & Experience

John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in Sociology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in December 2010. He went on to earn his law degree from CU Boulder in 2015. During his third year of law school, John served as a Production Editor of the Colorado Natural Resources, Energy & Environmental Law Review.

While in law school, John worked with both the Arvada and Boulder City Attorney Offices where he gained valuable experience in responding to the myriad issues facing local government entities. Following graduation, John served as a law clerk to the Honorable Patrick D. Butler in the 20th Judicial District.

Organizations & Community Involvement

John is a member of the Boulder County and Colorado Bar Associations.

John is also involved with the Special District Association and the Colorado Association of School Boards, and has been a regular presenter at the Special District Association’s Annual Conference on various topics related to local government operations.

Prior to beginning law school, John worked with a local non-profit that focuses on promoting academic strength and life skills to low-income students in Boulder County. Now as an attorney, John remains dedicated to serving the many great communities of Colorado.

He lives in the Foothills near Boulder with his wife and son.  He loves everything Colorado has to offer including snowboarding, hiking and camping.
