Catherine A. Tallerico

Overview

Cathy Tallerico is a litigator who specializes in representing governmental entities such as school districts and special districts. She works closely with boards and executives on a wide variety of legal matters including policy development, employment matters, workplace investigations, open records and public meetings laws, education and student issues, constitutional issues, election matters, wage and hour issues and other matters which arise in day-to-day operations.

Cathy has substantial trial and appellate experience in civil litigation, representing clients before administrative agencies and in the State and Federal Courts. She handles a wide variety of lawsuits involving civil rights, constitutional claims, employment and discrimination laws, special education, contract disputes and construction matters.

Education & Experience

Cathy received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, School of Journalism in 1986. She earned her law degree from the University of Colorado, School of Law in 1990. Cathy served on the Board of Editors for the University of Colorado Law Review.

Prior Lyons Gaddis, Cathy was a shareholder at a litigation firm in Denver where she defended employment discrimination, civil rights and construction defect lawsuits.

Cathy is a frequent speaker on employment and education issues. She is the past President of the Colorado Council of School Board Attorneys, and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association. She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Employment Section and Boulder Bar Association.

Personal

Cathy and her husband are empty-nesters.  They live in Boulder with their dog. She enjoys dancing, hiking, skiing and reading.
